What sets Telcan apart is their ability to combine their extensive experience in the telecom industry with a robust and proven infrastructure. This powerful combination enables them to deliver high-quality internet services that meet the evolving needs of their customers.

What Telcan Offers Canadians

There are a number of things that Telcan wants to bring to the table when it comes to communications. They have been providing services since 1998, and offer a wide range of phone and internet plans, along with corporate telecommunications.

Affordability

Telcan plans are quite cheap. Their most expensive internet plan goes for $95 at the regular price, and there is a promotional offer of $75 for the first two years. The contracts are prepaid and include things like setup and equipment rental. They also offer home phone plans for between $9.99 per month and $19.99 per month. These plans can also be bundled with internet plans for additional savings. All internet plans offer unlimited downloads, and all phone plans have unlimited calling.

Transparency

Telcan offers affordable telecommunications with “no hassle”. That is, their customer service and transparency are a major focus of their attention. There are no hidden fees or exploitative contracts to get in the way of their services.

Effectiveness

Telcan has built its phone and internet services around its already robust telecommunication infrastructure. Their equipment and networks are trusted by major corporations who rely on Telcan to provide things like VOIP and other services.

Telcan Plans and Pricing

Telcan has a wide range of plans covering both phone and internet services.

Internet Plans

All of Telcan’s internet plans come with unlimited data usage. Additionally, they are broken down according to bandwidth and devices:
  • Internet 50 — This plan comes with up to 50 Mbps download speed, 10 Mbps upload speed, and up to 7 streaming devices for $42 per month
  • Internet 75 — This plan comes with up to 75 Mbps download speed, 30 Mbps upload speed, and up to 10 streaming devices for $43 per month
  • Internet 300 — This plan comes with up to 300 Mbps download speed, 30 Mbps upload speed, and up to 42 streaming devices for $75 per month
  • Internet 500 — This plan comes with up to 500 Mbps download speed, 30 Mbps upload speed, and up to 71 streaming devices for $80 per month

Telcan Coverage

Although Telcan has been serving Canadians since 1998, their coverage is limited to specific areas of Ontario and Quebec. These include:
  • Ontario
  • Quebec
Customers outside of these areas will, unfortunately, have to look elsewhere for internet and phone services. In some of these areas, only phone service from Telcan may be available. Likewise, other areas may only have internet available. If you want information or you wish to check availability in your area, you can check out Telcan’s website.

Final Thoughts

Telcan is a reasonably cheap and straightforward telecommunications company with a large variety of internet and phone packages available in Ontario and Quebec. Their services are well received in most areas, and reports of outages or slowdowns are minimal. For the best savings, it is recommended to get internet + phone packages suited to your individual needs. Different internet plans offered by Telcan have varying download and upload speeds as well as maximum streaming devices. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask away in the comments section.

Telcan review

-

Telcan Inc, Internet service provider

September 2, 2021, I moved to my new home and had my internet and home phone connected within one week, so far all is well. While other providers are struggling with heavy overhead due to abuse, waste, inefficient operation, and dwindling subscription due to unaffordable prices for low income consumers, if Telcan will remain competitive by cutting cost, eliminating waste by monitoring the progress in its operation with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and pass the savings to its customers, its profit will continue to rise without being a future communication giant and without the dilemma of other big providers which lose customers due to unaffordable prices and face business contraction. Nature is cyclical: Expansion followed by Contraction, when a company grows so big, left hand does not know what right hand is doing, there is communication problem between departments and there is abuse and waste resulting in increasing operating cost, some departments may be working against each other for self-interest. As the company increases fees to cover rising operating cost, it risks losing customers who switch to other lower price providers. Consumers are price sensitive as they struggle to make ends meet by cutting their expenses amid rising inflation and cost of living. The ramification for the struggling big providers will be layoff, freeze in pay hike or even pay cut. The worst outcome could be takeover by other providers and in cases of drowning in debts, face bankruptcy. An ingenious operating system, effective and responsible customer communication, experienced and well trained technical support staffs (excel in knowledge, clear verbal English/French and politeness) are essential for pleasing its customers and vital for the company’s success.

Most start up internet providers started to increase fee once their business picked up, then started to lose coustomers struggling to make ends meet amid hardship in life. Over the years, I have seen many start up companies born and died within as short as 2 years. But Telcan has kept its operating cost low and its fees constant while providing intelligent and conscientious service.

February 5, 2024 I chated with Telcan agent to report change of address, the process was very simple and smooth. I moved to a new home, my internet and home phone cable was installed on February 8 and access to internet and phone is operational, thanks TelCan for the great job !!!

July 2, 2024 I chated with Telcan agent to report change of address again, the process was done in 10 minute. I moved back to the former address 2 days ago but into a different room, the Telcan technician came this morning at 8 am and made the internet/home pnone connection in less than 15 miniutes and it is operational, thanks Telcan for the great job again, highly recommended.

Run from this company!! Run very fast!!!!!

-

Don’t do it! This company is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They offer cheap rates and provide cheaper service! They throttle your internet and when you catch them, they play dumb. When you cancel your account, they ignore you and continue to charge you and send you threatening messages EVERY DAY saying they will report you to the credit bureau! I have been going back and forth with them every day for weeks now! Every time they say “sorry for the confusion” and then proceed to tell me they are going to disconnect me and report me to the credit bureau!! There is no confusion! I already told them I’m not using their service!!! I paid them every month and then said my last payment was my last payment! They igonore you – sort of – but then come back with the same never ending circular conversation. It’s like when George Costanza wouldn’t answer his girlfriend’s calls so she couldn’t break up with him. Save yourself the aggravation and run from this company!!

Disappointing

-

As a person who values honesty and integrity in business, my experience with Telcan has been nothing short of disappointing. Despite initially agreeing upon a specific pricing plan, with a 2-year commitment by Telcan for no price increase, Telcan failed to uphold its commitment, leaving me frustrated and disillusioned.

From the outset, I was drawn to Telcan by promises of reliable service and transparent pricing. However, my satisfaction was short-lived when I received an email part way through the agreed-upon terms. In summary, Telcan decided to forgo the original agreed to price, imposing a price increase. (See their email below) Despite multiple attempts to seek clarification and resolution, I was met with evasion and indifference from Telcan. (see their response to me below)

The lack of accountability displayed by Telcan is deeply concerning. As customers, we should be able to expect a company to honour its commitments. We should be able to trust that advertised promotions and prices will be honoured. However, the blatant switch and bait tactics of Telcan, and the disregard for their own terms of service leaves me questioning the company’s integrity and reliability.

Also, I recently discovered that Telcan solicits reviews in return for compensation. Such practices should be banned. Anyone looking at Telcan reviews should filter results based on “negative” as it provides a clearer picture regarding this company.

The frustration and inconvenience caused by this pricing discrepancy cannot be overstated. As a consumer, I rely on accurate and transparent billing to manage my expenses. The failure of Telcan to stick to our agreed-upon pricing plan has not only eroded my trust in the company, but also created unnecessary strain as I switch providers.

My experience with Telcan has been profoundly disappointing. I would caution others about committing to service with them. I cannot in good conscience recommend their services.

Below is the communication from Telcan to verify my experience.

“Dear xxxxxxx,

Telcan Account # xxxxx

Telcan is committed to providing high-quality internet services to our clients. To keep up with rising business costs and to continue providing you with the best possible services, your internet plan price will be increasing on Feb 23, 2024.

On the date of your first bill after Feb 23, 2024, the monthly service fee for your Internet package will increase from $xx to $xx (plus taxes). To help accommodate this change, we will end the term price increase”

and their followup to my complaint:

“After careful consideration, our management made the decision to conclude the promotional offer earlier than anticipated. We understand this may not align with your expectations, and we apologize for any frustration it has caused.”
