Overview of Access Communications Internet Services

Access Communications is a non-profit, community-owned cooperative headquartered in Regina, Saskatchewan. It has been providing internet, TV, and phone services to residents and businesses throughout the province for decades. What sets Access apart is its commitment to reinvesting revenue back into the communities it serves. As a result, the company offers a unique combination of affordable plans, personalized customer service, and expansive coverage in both urban centers and rural communities.

Internet Plans Offered by Access Communications

Access Communications offers a range of cable and wireless internet plans tailored to meet the needs of residential and business users. The cable internet plans are available in urban areas and offer higher download and upload speeds, while the fixed wireless service covers rural regions where traditional wired connections may be limited or unavailable.

The residential internet speeds typically range from 10 Mbps for basic usage to gigabit (1000 Mbps) plans suitable for high-demand households. Customers can choose from standalone internet options or bundle services for greater savings. All plans include unlimited data, so users do not have to worry about overage fees or throttling during peak hours.

Community-Focused and Locally Driven

As a cooperative, Access Communications operates differently from traditional telecom giants. Its business model is rooted in the community, and any surplus generated is reinvested into service improvements, technology upgrades, and local initiatives. This model not only ensures better accountability but also helps in maintaining lower pricing over time. Access also supports hundreds of community events and sponsors local charities, contributing positively to the social fabric of Saskatchewan.

Urban and Rural Internet Coverage

Access Communications has worked extensively to bridge the digital divide in Saskatchewan. While most ISPs concentrate only on urban centers, Access has rolled out wireless broadband options in hard-to-reach rural and remote areas. This makes it a popular choice among farmers, small-town residents, and northern communities that may otherwise be underserved. Whether you live in Regina, Saskatoon, Yorkton, or rural communities like Leader or Maple Creek, there is likely an Access solution for you.

Bundling Services with Access

Customers can maximize their savings and simplify billing by bundling internet with TV and phone services. Access offers customizable bundles, allowing you to choose from various internet speeds, over 200 TV channels, and affordable home phone services. This makes it convenient for households seeking an all-in-one solution under a single provider, especially with Access’s friendly local support just a call away.

Equipment and Installation

Access provides professional installation services for all internet connections. Depending on the plan and area, equipment such as a modem or wireless router may be included or available for rent. Access ensures that its hardware is compatible with the latest technologies, including IPv6 support, dual-band Wi-Fi, and DOCSIS 3.1 standards for high-speed cable connections.

Customer Service and Support

One of Access Communications’ biggest advantages is its Saskatchewan-based support team. Customers can call, email, or even visit local offices to receive assistance. This is particularly valuable for users who prefer in-person or phone support rather than chatbots or outsourced call centers. Reviews consistently highlight Access’s helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable support staff as a key reason customers remain loyal.

Access Communications for Businesses

In addition to residential offerings, Access provides a suite of business internet services with guaranteed uptime, static IP options, and 24/7 technical support. These services are ideal for small businesses, farms, and regional operations that need reliable and scalable connectivity. Business bundles are also available with dedicated support teams and service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure operational continuity.

Why Access Communications is a Strong Choice

Choosing Access Communications means supporting a provider that genuinely cares about your region and community. The cooperative model is designed to prioritize service quality over shareholder profit, leading to consistent investment in infrastructure, fair pricing, and top-tier customer support. The presence in rural areas and unlimited data on most plans further elevate its standing among Saskatchewan internet providers.

Final Thoughts

Access Communications is a solid, trustworthy internet provider for Saskatchewan residents who value unlimited data, local service, and community investment. Whether you need basic internet for browsing and email or a high-speed gigabit connection for streaming, gaming, and working from home, Access has a solution that fits. The cooperative’s continued expansion into underserved areas and ongoing investment in technology ensure that its customers enjoy modern, dependable internet services throughout the province.

Do not know what they are doing

-

I have had their service for a number of years. This summer I added next tv to my service. Bad mistake. I have had constant problems ever since. I have talked to them at least 20 or 30 time. I have had 6 or 7 technicians here to fix the problem. Everytime they replace something else. Still not working properly. I have been very patient but enough is enough. My internet has cut out 8 times in three hours and wifi has cut out 6 times in between. I call, wait on hold for 20 minutes just to be told to call back in 10 minutes because they don’t have time to talk to me. For the last three weeks they have told me that the rural people are looking at it and will call me. No calls. Did speed tests. It connected to three providers in Vancouver as well as one in Toronto. They do not know what they are doing.
